DSCF3229

On the 12nd of July, after the Sunday religious service, catholic priests and people  marched on Victory Road (Calea Victoriei) and Magheru Blvd  to Victory Square (Piata Victoriei) at Government headquarters.

There they gave Prime-Minister Emil Boc a petition in which they asked towto stop the construction of the glass and concrete tower, 75 m high, which is rising in the very close vicinity of  St Joseph Catholic Cathedral (Catedrala Sf Iosif – historical monument) causing it damages.

  1. Oh dear. I hope their petition will be successful.
I realize we can’t stop new buildings from going up, especially if they’re necessary for a city’s progress, but they really don’t have to destroy historical buildings to do so.
